Develop both Long Term Goals and Short Term Goals. - First you have to decide on what it is that you are trying to accomplish.  Make sure your goals are attainable. Goals that are set to high may very well make you give up. Goals that are set to low may keep you from achieving your full potential. Break down large goals into small components. If your long term goal is to lose 20 lbs. then set a short term goal to lose 3 pounds a week. This helps you to feel good about your accomplishment each week and builds your self confidence. Build on your successes!

 

Write down your Goals. – Take a few minutes every day to write down your goals. Keeping it formal will help you to understand exactly what is you want to achieve. It is okay to adjust your goals, but do everything you can to stick to your objectives. Think about which friends and organizations might be able to help you to obtain your goals. Don’t be afraid to ask for the help of others when it may be needed.

 

 Develop your Plan. – What do you have to do to accomplish your goals? How do I stay motivated? What will the reward be if I accomplish my goal? These are important questions that you must ask yourself. Write down your plan and make sure it takes into account your unique personality.
