4 Keys to Staying Healthy and to Achieving More

Make sure you get a good night sleep – Proper rest is imperative to the ability of human beings to function properly. It affects your health, learning capacity, memory, and yes our motivation to accomplish our goals. Start planning earlier bed times. Turn off the T.V, put away your computer, get the kids to bed earlier, avoid heavy eating or caffeine before bed, and most of all ensure that you have a comfortable sleeping environment.

Control your appetite and eat healthier – One of the hardest things for most of us to do, but also one of the most important. Learn about the food you are consuming. Being overweight puts, a strain on your heart and your stamina declines dramatically. It all starts in the grocery market. Simply stop purchasing items that are going to have a negative effect on your health. This alone will make it more difficult for you to cheat and continue any bad habits you have developed.  Change from a high calorie diet to a lower calorie that you enjoy just as much. You do not have to deprive yourself. You just have to learn to make better choices.

Exercise – Yep. You have to do it! Start slow with a walk around the block and build up slowly. Trying to start with, a 5 K race is definitely not the way to go. The truth is that exercise stimulates the brain, improves our physical body, and yes increases our motivation. Going to gym is only one-way to exercise. Make exercise fun! Take a dancing class, hike a beautiful trail, or find a place to swim, but most of all make sure it is a physical activity you like to do. If you are the type of person who gets bored easily then change exercises on a regular basis. Stop making excuses. Find the time. It is too important not to. Exercising for 20 minutes, a day will go a long way to improve your health and make you feel better. Consult with you physician before starting any rigorous activity

Relaxation – Stress and anxiety can be extremely detrimental to your health. Remember that old saying: Take the time and smell the Roses. In today’s world of high-pressure jobs, taking care of family and children, and doing your every day household chores it never seems like there is time for you! Plan relaxation time into your schedule. You cannot take care of those you love if you do not take care of yourself. A weekend getaway or a vacation is a great way to recharge your batteries. Taking time off will go a long way to improving your health, reenergizing you, and yes it will increase your motivation to do even more.
